Summer Fun '09 Part I

**Disclaimer: This post contains many photos, give yourself ample time to view**

Between rain storms we've been able to have some summer fun. Here are pictures documenting the first part of summer. Macy finally had her much anticipated dance recital. She's the one on the end. It was hilarious to watch.

Shilo enjoyed it as much as the rest of us. She also loves to dance.

Macy was very serious after the show. I couldn't get her to smile.

No, she doesn't have a moustache. She was a puppy dog and had some whiskers drawn on her face.

I have a major problem with giving my kids suckers or popsicles. I can't handle the stickiness. This particular day Macy talked me into letting her have a popsicle and we all know that nobody can eat without Shilo wanting to eat as well. The end result was the girls stripped down to their underoos eating popsicles in the backyard. As illustrated Macy is an awesome big sister who loves to help Shilo. Like I've said a million times before, I'm blessed to have these cute little girls in my life.

"Swimming" in the pool.

After having a bath she still couldn't stay away.

Biking. Shilo would not wear her helmet and as you can see was not too fond of being strapped in. Luckily she always has her pink princess purse!

Sometimes a girl needs to get away with some good friends and play a nice friendly game of golf. Me, Rhi, and Katie did just that. Nice swing Kate.

Rhi the professional who was very patient with me as I chased my golf ball everywhere but the green!

Me in the roughage again.

There you go, hopefully you don't have picture overload. Stay tuned for more pictures documenting summer '09, part II.

Father's Day

My girls pretty much have the best dad and grandpas. We are blessed to have strong men in our lives. We love you Bryan, dad, and Evan.

Boys!

Macy loves my brother Nick and his best bud Matt. She loves to follow them around and talk to them. One day while we were at my parent's house Matt came over to do homework with Nick. After completing their homework they planned to play basketball so they were dressed in their bball attire: gym shoes, shorts, t-shirts and Matt had a sweatband around his head. While they were doing homework Macy went and sat by them and I overheard this conversation ensue.

Macy: Matt, take off your headband.

Matt: Why? Do you want to wear it?

Macy: No I don't want to wear it. I want you to take it off so I can see your beautiful hair!

She's always been a little flirt with the boys. The only person who didn't find this passage amusing was her dad. I have a feeling that he'll have his hands full in about 13 years!

Haggas!

Why do people say that renting is better than buying? Have they never spent 7 hours swapping out 18 year old garbage disposals? Or is it just my Fate?

By the way, if you want to go lose weight, do this: Flip over a garbage disposal with your mouth wide open so they you can catch any projectiles that may come out.

Meadowlark Lane is a little quieter today. After 12 years of being a loyal dog, Molly Anderson was put down. She has been sick for a while but every time we thought that it was the end she perked up. Unfortunately, this week she took a turn for the worst and Doc thought that it was time to put her down. She has been an awesome dog, very loyal and loving. One of my favorite memories of Molly is the time we spent together when I "trained" her for a psychology project. She would do anything for a hot dog. I hope that dog heaven and human heaven are one in the same. Rest in peace Molly.

5K

Well I just completed my first 5k. It wasn't as bad as thought it would be. In honor of me actually getting some exercise and participating in a civic event I thought that I would make a thank-you list (come on I'll never win an Emmy, maybe a Grammy, but certainly not an Emmy or an Oscar so bear with me)!
1. Bryan for being an outstanding husband and super hot. While I was "racing" he went and picked up some appliances, brought them back to the house, carried them into the house and hauled a load of the neighbors stuff in his truck while taking care of the girls. Honestly he's amazing. I can barely handle taking both of them to the grocery store.
2. Shilo for waking me up in the morning and running with me, well riding in the stroller while I ran.
3. Macy for not waking up early in the morning so I didn't have to push 2 kids in the stroller.
4. Stella for also running with me and pulling me and Shilo up the hills.
5. Papa Burrito and Mummy
6. Curt for being very fast and giving me a lofty goal of catching you next time.
7. My two awesome sisters for sacrificing your times and slowing down to stay with me.
8. Nestle for sponsoring the race and providing wonderful and refreshing Popsicles at the end of the race.
9. My Nikes
10. The great city of Springville.
11. Finally, my lungs for not bursting.
Thank you

Before the race me and my "little" sister. Please no short jokes.

After the race.

Me looking like a nerd, Katie, and Annie after the race.

The winner of the family, Curt.

The fam after the race.

What blog entry would be complete without a picture of the girls?

The 'Hood

two cute sunbathers!

We honestly have the coolest neighborhood. We all got together on Memorial Day to try out the new neighborhood slide. The kids slid and the adults played a little volleyball (sorry about my horrible volleyball skills) it was a great day!
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to manifest God's glory within us. It's not just in some of us: it's in everyone."
